A deadly batch of heroin has been connected to eight deaths and more overdoses in Springfield, Chicopee and Holyoke just in the past week.

The lethal batch carries the label "Hollywood" heroin. On New Year's Day, Holyoke police issued an urgent warning to users, as did the Chicopee Police Department, who posted on Facebook:

"Please, if you know someone using, or are using, DO NOT use this. If you have any information on this drug, please, contact our narcotics officers."
