Many Greater Bostonians woke up this morning to an editorial, wrapped around the front page of the Globe, showing a life-size AR-15 rifle and the words, "Make It Stop."

The paper is calling for gun control reform and lists the six senators who "stand in the way." Online, the article links to the Twitter accounts and emails of the six senators, encouraging readers to contact them. The pre-written tweet reads "The US must ban semiautomatic weapons. Please help us end mass shootings."

We talk about the role newspaper editorials play and the history of papers calling for action.
