In the primaries this week, Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley defeated ten-term incumbent Congressman Michael Capuano in the 7th Congressional District. Former Secretary of Administration and Finance, Jay Gonzalez, will face incumbent Governor Charlie Baker in the general election in November.

In national news, Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh faced the Senate Judiciary Committee in a chaotic week of hearings. Meanwhile, an anonymous op-ed published in The New York Times prompted major questions about journalism ethics and whether the White House is undergoing a "soft coup."
