Friday was day 14 of the government shutdown, which is a full pay cycle for the 800,000 federal employees who won't be getting paid until a solution is reached.
And the consequences are starting to build, including at the federal immigration court in Boston, where dockets are frozen.
Democratic leaders — including the newly-empowered House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — met with President Trump at the White House Friday afternoon to try to break the stalemate ... without success.
To discuss the shutdown and Democrats' strategy going forward, we spoke to Congressman Jim McGovern. He represents Massachusetts' 2nd District, and just took over the chairmanship of the powerful House Rules Committee.
