Author Kwame Alexander calls his new children's book 'a love letter to Black America.'

The title is "The Undefeated," and it's a poem for — as he says — the undiscovered, the unbelievable, the unbending, the underdogs and the uncertain.

It's illustrated with paintings of black icons — from Jesse Owens, to Ella Fitzgerald, to Michael Brown, the 18-year old man killed by police in Ferguson, Missouri.
