Ten years ago in May, 21-year-old Justin Cosby was shot and killed in a Harvard residence hall. The burst of violence on an Ivy League campus became national news.

Ultimately, a jury found that a young man named Jabrai Copney murdered Cosby, after attempting to rob him of the marijuana he was trying to sell. Copney is serving a life sentence.

Two other men pleaded guilty to lesser charges, and Copney's girlfriend, Brittany Smith, confessed to hiding the gun and received a three-year sentence.

While the events happened at Harvard, only Smith was a Harvard student.

In a new memoir,"Murder at Harvard Kirkland House: A Mother's Worst Nightmare," Cosby's mother Denise tells the story of her son's life, death, and legacy.
