With so many of us stuck at home and trying to limit visits to grocery stores, some U.S. gardening companies have reported an uptick in interest in gardening and people growing their own plants -- particularly of leafy greens like kale and spinach.

But, in Massachusetts, the weather has been unpredictable. We talk about what's going on with the weather this spring and answer your questions about spring gardening in damp and cool conditions — or growing plants indoors.

We hear from WBUR meteorologist David Epstein, who is also the horticulturist behind the website GrowingWisdom.com. And we're joined by Zannah Porter, Director of Operations at Green City Growers, who specializes in roof-top and urban farming.

This segment aired on April 27, 2020.
