Here's the Radio Boston rundown for Sep. 15. Tiziana Dearing is our host.

  • After months of speculation — and a sneak preview from Boston Mayor Marty Walsh himself last week — Boston City Councilor Michelle Wu announced Tuesday that she is running for mayor. We speak with Wu about her decision.
  • A recent study from the Boston University School of Public Health found that the number of American adults with depression symptoms has more than tripled during the coronavirus pandemic. People of color are particularly struggling, as they are being affected disproportionately by the health and economic toll of the pandemic, and dealing with systemic racism. We take listener calls with local mental health professionals and community leaders.
  • With the college semester now in full swing, we discuss what the current higher education experience is like with three students at three different Massachusetts universities. We're joined by Deanna Schwartz, a third year student at Northeastern University living on campus, Catari Giglio, a first year student at Suffolk University living on campus, and Amanda Lookner, a first year student at UMass Amherst, which is currently only offering remote learning.

This program aired on September 15, 2020.
