The Grammys are this weekend, and as you might have guessed — the awards show will be virtual. In a year when the music world has been challenged by the loss of touring and live performances, a virtual Grammys is a symbol of how the industry met that challenge. We discuss with two award winners and nominees — both of whom are nominated this year, as well.

Danilo Perez is a pianist, composer, producer, and educator at Berklee College of Music, where he is the artistic director for the Berklee Global Jazz Institute. He is also a UNESCO Artist for Peace, and the cultural ambassador for Panama. We're also joined by Terri Lyne Carrington, drummer, composer, producer, and educator at Berklee College of Music, where she is also the founder and artistic director of the Institute for Jazz and Gender Justice.

This segment aired on March 11, 2021.
