Here is the Radio Boston rundown for May 3. Tiziana Dearing is our host.

  • It's been a little over a month since Kim Janey made history as the first woman and first Black mayor of Boston. We check in with Acting Mayor Kim Janey to reflect on her first month in office during her very first "Mondays With The Mayor." We take listener calls and discuss Janey's personal history, Boston's vaccine rollout and reopening plans, and police oversight and reform.
  • This year's news cycle has been tough to take at times. We want to take our listeners back to a time, pre-pandemic, when local artists, comedians, and authors would join us at WBUR's studios. One of those visitors was John Hodgman, known for his role as PC in the infamous PC and Mac commercials, and The Deranged Billionaire on Jon Stewart's The Daily Show. He joined us in October 2019 to discuss his latest book, "Medallion Status."
  • The NHL and NBA playoffs are both slated to start later this month, and the Celtics and Bruins are both hopeful contenders. Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Patriots drafted a quarterback in the first round for the first time since 1993. And the Red Sox? They're worlds better than we expected, but are they World Series contenders? We discuss all that and more when we check the score with Radio Boston's Chris Citorik, who gives us an update on the Boston sports scene.

This program aired on May 3, 2021.
