It's been a very long time since the cheers and the cowbells sounded along the Boston Marathon course stretching from Hopkinton all the way into the heart of Boston, at Copley Square. More than 900 days, in fact. But those long-awaited sounds are back today for the 125th running of the race.

We check in with reporter Alex Ashlock, who's been out on the course all day covering the race for WBUR.

This segment aired on October 11, 2021.
