A push in Boston to address liquor license disparities, and Mass. congresswoman tours Ukrainian border

This is the Radio Boston rundown for April 11. Our host is Tiziana Dearing.

  • Last month, U.S. Congresswoman Lori Trahan joined a bipartisan delegation of U.S. lawmakers touring the Ukrainian border in Poland, Romania and Moldova. They spoke with military leaders and met with refugees and the organizations working with them as people continue to flood into neighboring countries to escape the ongoing violence.
  • Boston is the only city in Massachusetts that has to petition the state government to increase the number of liquor licenses it can give out. Now, a handful of Boston city councilors are pushing to add 200 new liquor licenses, focusing on underserved neighborhoods like Mattapan, Hyde Park and Roxbury.
