This is the rundown for Radio Boston on May 18. Tiziana Dearing is our host.

  • Roughly 2,000 Afghan refugees have resettled in Massachusetts as of March, fleeing violence and uncertainty in their home country. Among them are brothers Shakib and Waden Malikzai, who are now working in the janitorial department at the UMass Chan Medical School as part of a new program that helps recently resettled Afghan refugees find jobs there.
  • During COVID-19, the American Psychological Association found that Americans reported significantly higher stress than at any time since 2007, the first year of the survey and the start of the great recession. So today, we're going to try to de-stress.
  • We talk about what it takes to serve your community with your heart and soul during some of life's most challenging moments with Rev. Willie Bodrick II, senior pastor at the Twelfth Baptist Church in Roxbury.

This program aired on May 18, 2022.
