A Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit law firm, New Civil Liberties Alliance, filed a lawsuit against the Massachusetts Department of Public Health that claims the department's use of a COVID-19 contact tracing app for cell phones violated users' privacy rights.

Boston Globe technology writer Hiawatha Bray joins us to discuss the details of the lawsuit and how the organization behind the suit often supports conservative and libertarian causes.

This segment aired on December 1, 2022.
