This is the Radio Boston rundown for Jan 30. Tiziana Dearing is our host.

  • A new survey from the Massachusetts nonprofit Amplify Latinx found that most statewide elected officials are not well known to Latino voters, and that many Latino voters feel unheard and unrepresented in politics. We speak with Eneida Román, co-founder, president and CEO of Amplify Latinx, and Boston Globe associate editor and columnist Marcela García, who wrote about the poll, to learn more.
  • Women make up only 27% of STEM workers, despite being half the workforce. The top leadership team at MIT is now all women. We ask them what they plan to do about the disparity.
  • Massachusetts' professional soccer team, the New England Revolution, is gearing up for a new season. With more eyes on soccer after the World Cup, we ask center back Henry Kessler how newcomers to the sport can start appreciating the game.

This program aired on January 30, 2023.
