'Slow AF Run Club' works to make the sport more inclusive
It's harder than ever to compete in the Boston Marathon. This year, thousands of people who might typically qualify for the race were denied entry due to an increase in applications. And for the 2026 race, organizers reduced qualifying times for the biggest cutoff in the organization's history.
If that makes you hesitant to pick up running, don't be, says Martinus Evans, a fitness influencer, author and founder of the Slow AF Run Club. His running group and the online community of the same name are dedicated to making the running more inclusive.
