Mass. elected officials are taking more political risks in the fight against Trump

09:42

Democratic elected officials in Massachusetts are taking sometimes risky stands in their fight against Trump.

In D.C., the entire 11-member congressional delegation voted against the deal to end the shutdown. And in Massachusetts, Gov. Maura Healey's administration strategically released SNAP funding to recipients between contradicting court rulings.

Former Mass. state Sen. Sonia Chang-Diaz and Boston Globe political reporter James Pindell join WBUR's Morning Edition to discuss how likely the strategy is to pay off — and who gets hurt if it doesn't.

This segment aired on November 14, 2025.
