The Future of U.S.-Europe Relations

On this week's show, we presented a lecture given by the Swiss Ambassador to the United States Alfred Defago at the Boston University Center for International Relations this past week. The topic of his lecture was "Europe and USA: Two Worlds Drifting Apart." Ambassador Alfred Defago was appointed Ambassador of Switzerland to the United States in 1997, having served as Consul General of Switzerland in New York since 1994.

Follwoing Ambassador Defago's lecture was a discussion on the present state of American-European relations and what their future relationship is likely to be during Bush's presidency with Professor Doug Sears, Associate Dean at Boston University's School of Education, and Liah Greenfeld, Professor of Political Science and Sociology at Boston University's College of Arts and Sciences.
