On this week's show, we relived the events of Patriots' Day with the help of a program called "You Are There" that was presented 54 years ago over the CBS radio network. The program used the broadcast techniques of the day to recreate the seminal events of April 19th, 1775 — the battles of Lexington, Concord, and the running fight that lasted all the way back to Boston.

As we heard excerpts from the CBS program, we got comments on how such events affect Americans' images of themselves 227 years later, from Boston University History Professor Jill Lepore and Professor Robert Zelnick, former ABC newsman and current director of journalism at Boston University.

This program aired on April 21, 2002.
