On this week's show, Wendy Doniger, Professor of the History of Religions at the University of Chicago, spoke on the ancient Sanskrit texts that form the foundation of the Hindu religion. Her talk was one in a series under the auspices of Boston University's Institute for Philosophy and Religion titled "The Stranger's Religion: Fascination and Fear."

In her discussion, Professor Doniger raised critical questions about the way the Hindu religion makes use of the myths found in the ancient Sanskrit texts that form its foundation. She also drew parallels on the use of myths from other literature texts and scripts.
