On this week's show, Clark University Dean Douglas Little delivered a lecture titled "Innocents Abroad? Building America's New Empire in the Middle East." This lecture was the second in a series of weekly lectures hosted by the African American Studies Center at Boston University.

Dean Little pointed out how American culture fosters inaccurate images of the Middle East which in turn create many of the problems the U.S. faces in its involvement in the region. Little also traced the historic reasons that have led to America's increasing involvement in the Middle East and how they are affecting current U.S. foreign policy in the region.
