This week's show featured the second of three panel discussions presented by Boston University's African Studies Center and the African Presidential Archives and Research Center on "Rebuilding Liberia."

The talk, entitled "Reinventing Liberia," features Rev. Dr. Thomas Hayden, former Liberian missionary and school teacher, and current head of the Society of African Missions; Dr. Patrick Seyon, former president of the University of Liberia, and Ruth Sando Perry, former interim president of Liberia and current President-in-Residence at the African Presidential Archives and Research Center.

The panelists focus on Liberia's upcoming elections in 2005 and recommend that the country create a new constitution and a decentralized, federalized government in order to ensure a safe political future.

This program aired on February 22, 2004.
