This week's show featured the first of three panel discussions organized by the Boston University Department of Journalism on the 2004 presidential campaign, with special emphasis on the Democratic National Convention to be held from July 26-29, 2004 in Boston, MA.

The panelists in this first discussion were Stuart Rothenberg, publisher of "The Rothenberg Political Report," Steve Safran, managing editor of the New England Cable News, Karla Vallance, managing editor of Christian Science Monitor online, Joanne Ciccarello, journalism professor at Boston University, and Jim Mahoney, photo chief at Boston Herald.

The panelists will discuss how media outlets are devising comprehensive coverage of Campaign 2004 with their high-tech, interactive websites, and whether such high-tech media is improving news coverage in general.
