Review: “Cardenio”
BOSTON, Mass. — To Shakespeare scholars, “Cardenio” is the stuff of legend. It’s a play attributed to the Bard and collaborator John Fletcher, but it only survives in a mangled 18th century version.
Two contemporary collaborators, Harvard professor Stephen Greenblatt and playwright Charles Mee, have done their own tinkering with the story.
It’s now at the American Repertory Theatre’s Loeb Stage in Cambridge. “Morning Edition” critic-at-large Ed Siegel has this review.
