2 More Deaths Likely Linked To Swine Flu In Mass.
BOSTON — City and state health officials say the deaths of two more Boston residents are believed to be linked to the swine flu.
The deaths would bring to four the number of swine flu-related fatalities in Massachusetts. All of the victims were from Boston.
Officials announced Wednesday that test results confirmed that a 52-year-old man died from complications of the swine flu in his home June 26.
A 30-year-old man died June 29 after being hospitalized with a probable swine flu case two weeks earlier. Officials are awaiting confirmation of the H1N1 strand from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.
An 84-year-old man died Monday and a woman in her 30s died from the virus early last month.
There were 1,287 confirmed cases of the swine flu statewide as of June 26.
