An Undercover Cop, Brutally Beaten, Revealed Racial Divide In Boston
BOSTON — In 1995, Michael Cox, a black Boston police officer in plain clothes, was brutally beaten by his fellow officers when they mistook him for a murder suspect.
The subsequent cover-up and the civil rights trial that ensued are at issue in “The Fence: A Police Cover-Up Along Boston’s Racial Divide.”
Author and former Boston Globe reporter Dick Lehr joined us to talk about the new book.
