WBURVideo: MIT Students Grade Obama On Green Energy

Published October 23, 2009  UPDATED 6:40 PM

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — President Obama got a glance at some of the world’s most innovative clean energy technologies during a visit to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Friday. In a speech, he touted a major climate change bill and urged Americans to lead on renewable energy.

But Mr. Obama’s critics say he has hardly made any progress toward making America “green.” We interviewed MIT students before and after his speech for their assessment.

HOWEVER – I am worried that in recent speeches, President Obama has praised the french anf Japanese nuclear industries, and has mentioned the words – “clean” “safe” and “efficient” in relation to nuclear energy.
President Obama seems unaware of the debacle now going on with France’s new nuclear reactors in Finland and France.
World-wide problems of radioactive waste are also in the news. Japan had and still has, its earthquake problems.
Perhaps we expect too much of this President, who is no doubt surrounded by pressures from the fossil fuel and nuclear lobbies, not to mention the”military-industrila complex”.
