Belmont Teenager Killed By Commuter Train

A Belmont High School student was killed by a commuter train on the tracks behind the school Thursday afternoon.

T officials say the inbound train on the Fitchburg line hit the woman at 12:40. Her name has not been released but school officials say the student’s parents have been notified.

MBTA officials say the girl walked out into the path of a train that had just left Belmont Center Station. They are continuing to investigate.
