BOSTON — A giant in broadcast journalism — best known for his 30-year career at NPR and his 25-plus-year career at CBS — is dead.

NPR says longtime Senior News Analyst Daniel Schorr died Friday morning at a Washington hospital.

    Dan Schorr’s perspective and introspection will be much missed by his many fans. He was the youngest 93 year old man we ever knew.

    I lived in the same neighborhood in D.C.for almost 25 years as Mr.Schorr (Woodley Park), occasionally saw him on the street, without ever meeting him.I listened to his thoughtful, sometimes tong in cheek commentary most Saturdays with Scot Simon after I moved to Boston 15 years ago and just assumed, he would live forever. What a void he left in my and so many people’s lives.And yet, what a life well lived.
