WBURArrest Made In Jaewon Martin Murder

BOSTON — A Dorchester man is being held without bail for allegedly murdering Jaewon Martin, a 14-year-old honors student whose death shocked the city in May.

Twenty-year-old Timothy Hearns was arrested by Boston Police Friday morning and arraigned in Roxbury District Court that afternoon.

According to the prosecution, Hearns is an associate of the H-Block Gang, which has been engaged in a long and violent rivalry with the Heath Street gang. He and a group of gang associates allegedly drove to the Bromley Heath Housing project where they encountered Martin. Martin did not live there and he didn’t belong to any gang.

The defendant is also charged in the non-fatal shooting of Martin’s friend.
