WBURBrown’s Campaign Donations Continue To Flow In

BOSTON — Freshman Sen. Scott Brown raised more than $2 million between his election in January and the end of June. He set new fundraising records in January when he raised $1 million in a day, mostly from out-of-state donors.

Brown now has more than $6 million in his campaign account, and about two-thirds of his donations are coming from Massachusetts residents.

Sheila Krumholz, executive director for the Center for Responsive Politics, says the transition is not surprising.

“This was a big feather in the GOP’s cap to have taken this seat away from the Democrats,” Krumholz said. “Now that that hullabaloo has passed, the real attraction is centered on Massachusetts voters.”

Some prominent Republicans, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, have criticized Brown for siding with Democrats on key issues such as the financial reform bill.

While Brown may not have the full support of his party, it’s clear that he has a certain amount of popularity among some voters.

“It’s somewhat surprising that he’s raised this much because it’s the off-election year, but given the momentum that his January race has drawn, I think it’s smart strategy to keep try to keep that momentum going on the fundraising front,” Krumholz said.

Why is Scott Brown getting so much support. Because the left has gone too far. LIsten to the report on the mosque for a perfect example. Where is even one reasonable moderate voice in that talk show? Not one. In fact, we were told that if we didn’t think the mosque was appropriate then we are aiding AQ. And just how is that anything but the left wing equivalent of the right wing saying you must do what they say, or you are aiding AQ??? I think BUR and the democrats need to look in the mirror and do some soul searching. Us moderates don’t appreciate such radicalism. Not in Bush. Not now. Such tone deaf liberalism that is void of any thoughtful reflection is why Scott Brown was elected. Allow me to enlighten the moderates opinion on this matter, since your station is so completely void of it. This liberal, this democrat, asks you to consider the opposite equivalency in Christianity happened, and the right wingnuts flew a plane into an office building in Bagdad and killed 3000 Iraqis. Then, not ten years later, the ‘peace loving’ Evangelical Christians from America who emigrated over there, pushed to errect an Evangelical church on the very site where radicals of their faith killed 3000 Iraqis. Would you think that reasonable? Or would you embarressed for the insensitivity of the christians? Open your eyes. Those of us who sees this particular mosque as wrong are simply thoughtful. This mosque. Other mosques being shunned, that is a separate issue. Because it is not in bad taste to build mosques elsewhere does not mean it is in good taste case to build at ground zero. That you cannot offer this simple side of the issue, that you can not even understand it is a testament to how out of touch the left is becoming with the moderates.
