WBURAttempting To Unionize Boston’s Hospital Workers

BOSTON — Organized labor is on a comeback, according to Veronica Turner, who leads local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union in Boston.

WBUR’s Bob Oakes spoke with her about 1199′s effort to unionize workers at the big teaching hospitals in Boston, including Mass. General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and asked her who she hopes to unionize.
