Boston Police To Search Home Near Murders

Boston police are preparing to search a home near where four people — including a 2-year-old boy — were fatally shot and a fifth person was left critically wounded.

Boston police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll said officers were awaiting a search warrant for the home on Sutton Street, around the corner from Woolson Street in the Mattapan neighborhood where the shooting victims — some naked — were found early Tuesday.

Driscoll could not immediately confirm reports that one of the victims lived at or was staying at the home.

Police have not released the victims' names, but some family members have confirmed their identities.

Police department spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll says that police are combing through several leads, though no arrests have been made.

“The homicide investigation is extremely active,” Driscoall said. “Our detectives are working around the clock. We are optimistic about progress that we’re making.”

Asked if the shootings were believed drug-related, Driscoll said that was a "theory" investigators were pursuing but that no specific motive had been established.
