WBURFDIC’s Bair: ‘Ignore’ WikiLeaks Bank Release

BOSTON — The head of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Sheila Bair, says Bank of America customers should ignore speculation that the bank could be the next target of WikiLeaks.

The provocative website has stated its next big release of internal documents will expose a major U.S. bank.

Bair, one of the nation’s top banking regulators, says bank customers shouldn’t stress about it.

“It seems to me people are just trying to stir up trouble and create problems and worry, and I’d just ignore it,” she said Thursday in Boston. “I’m ignoring it and they should, too!”

The FDIC head says banks have already been through the wringer, with much of their business squarely in the public debate. She thinks whatever information comes out in January would be unreliable and probably out-of-date.

She made the comments speaking to The Boston Club, a nonprofit promoting women in corporate leadership.

Bank of America executive Anne Finucane said Wednesday in Boston her company has had no contact with WikiLeaks and also has no evidence that is is being targeted.

Quick, get more sand; we don’t have enough yet to bury the heads of every BoA customer…

I wish the bank docs were released already. I would love to see just what they have been up to these last two years. No good, I’m assuming.

“It seems to me people are just trying to stir up trouble and create problems and worry, and I’d just ignore it,” she said Thursday in Boston. “I’m ignoring it and they should, too!” -This is the problem. Sheila Bair refuses to protect the American public. BofA has managed our investment accounts, we have lost a tremendous amount of money, but their own proprietor trading accounts have provided BofA employees with huge profits and bonuses!!!! Sheila Bair, do your job and investigate, see what is there, or leave your job to someone who will actually care about the well being of ordinary American citizens!!!!
