Patrick Continues Trade Mission In Great Britain

The trade mission led by Gov. Deval Patrick is in London Monday to talk financial services. After trying to promote Bay State companies in Israel, the trade delegation of state officials and business leaders is now visiting Great Britain.

Natixis Global Asset Management CEO John Hailer, of Boston, is leading one meeting Monday afternoon. The agenda is to attract more of the world's growing asset management business.

Hailer says Britons and Bostonians can capitalize on their historical ties.

"There’s also a lot of similarities in the way they look at investing, much more so than continental Europe," Hailer said.

"It's important, and it gets visibility to a city like Boston and a state like Massachusetts. You know what? It's all in what you do after the meeting."

Hailer said his own company is a good example of how promoting global trade can help at home. Natixis Global Asset Management has added more than 500 jobs in Boston over the past 10 years.
