American Journalists In Libya Could Soon Be Free

The Boston-based employer of one of two American journalists being detained by forces loyal to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi says four international journalists could soon be freed.

A Libyan government spokesman said Monday the reporters are expected to appear before a judge in an administrative court on Tuesday.

The spokesman said he did not believe the four would face a jail term. He said they were likely to be fined then released.

He did not reveal names, but Boston-based Global Post said it believes the four include its own correspondent James Foley and Clare Morgana Gillis, a freelance journalist who wrote for The Atlantic and USA Today. Both have been in captivity since April 5.

Foley's family is from Rochester, N.H. Gillis' parents live in New Haven, Conn.
