One week ago, a tornado smashed through parts of the small western Massachusetts town of Monson, doing serious property damage and delaying Monson High School's graduation.

But on Wednesday evening, 103 students will graduate from the school. The ceremony was postponed from last Friday and was moved outside so that anyone from the community can attend.

WBUR's All Things Considered host Sacha Pfeiffer spoke with the school's principal, Andrew Linkenhoker, who will address the graduating seniors at their ceremony. He told us how the class president lost his house in the tornado, and how many of Monson High's seniors rallied to help him and people all over the town.

This program aired on June 8, 2011.
