MGH Returns To Haiti To Fight Cholera
BOSTON — The cholera crisis is surging again in Haiti. After the 2010 earthquake, there was a serious outbreak last fall. That outbreak subsided for a while, but has spiked again in recent months.
A team from Massachusetts General Hospital has just arrived to help out. The team will be working at Hospital Albert Schweitzer in Deschapelles, just north of the nation’s capital, Port-au-Prince.
Grace Deveney, a nurse with MGH’s Center for Global Health, joined Morning Edition Monday from the Haitian hospital to talk about her team’s efforts.
