Rising Tuition Bills A Growing Concern Among Parents

BOSTON — The college year begins anew next week, and with it, the reality of rising school bills.

Now that they’ve calculated the tuition, fees and extras, many families are figuring out whether — or how much — they’ll have to borrow.

WBUR’s Bob Oakes talks with a financial aid adviser, Kevin Fudge, who works with the Boston-based nonprofit, American Student Assistance.

But first we hear from a parent Kevin has helped, Altagracia de los Santos, who has decided not to take on a huge debt.
