The Associated PressBoston Teacher’s Aide Arraigned

BOSTON — Officials say a Boston schools employee accused of engaging in lewd behavior with a 14-year-old autistic student who cannot speak faced allegations of inappropriate contact with a student before, but was not reported to police and was transferred to another school.

The teacher’s assistant, LaShawn Hill, pleaded not guilty Thursday to stealing computers from the Harbor Point School.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on a lewd and lascivious behavior charge in connection with the alleged contact with the autistic student at the same school earlier this week.

Superintendent Carol Johnson says an investigation is under way into the prior incident. She says police were not told because there was not sufficient information to determine whether something inappropriate happened.

Hill’s lawyer says there is more to the theft story.
