Psychology Of A Rematch

BOSTON — The New England Patriots crafted a historic undefeated 2007 season leading up to the championship game against the New York Giants. Tom Brady and the Patriots held the lead in the final minute of Super Bowl XLII, at which point Eli Manning and the Giants… well, let’s just say New England concluded that season with a record of 18-1.

The two teams meet again for Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, Feb. 5, in Indianapolis.

Amy Baltzell, sport psychologist and author of “Living in the Sweet Spot: Preparing for Performance in Sport and Life,” joined WBUR’s Morning Edition for some insight into how competitive minds cope with such a challenge.
