Victim’s Roommate Takes The Stand in Mattapan Murders Trial
BOSTON — Serena Moore, a roommate of one of the victims killed during a 2010 robbery of a Mattapan home, testified Tuesday that she was home, sleeping in her bed after a night of heavy drinking, when the robbery and shootings occurred.
Moore testified that she only found out about the robbery and the murders the next morning. She also said that she had approximately $23,000 cash in her bedroom at the time of the robbery, money she said she had saved from working as a stylist, cleaner and babysitter.
The prosecution’s key witness, Kimani Washington, previously testified that he and the two defendants stole $1,800 in cash, in addition to drugs.
Kimani Washington agreed to testify against his cousin, Edward Washington, and co-defendant Dwayne Moore in exchange for a plea deal.
