Mehanna Courtroom Speech Garners Varied Reactions

Tarek Mehanna, the Sudbury man prosecutors say turned from grunge rock fan to homegrown terrorist, was sentenced Thursday to 17.5 years in prison.

Mehanna was convicted last year of providing material support to al-Qaida via the Internet and social media. In a Boston courtroom Thursday, Mehanna delivered a speech that has already traveled the world to starkly different reactions.
