Boston Man Lead Police On Pursuit

A man police say led them on a car chase from Boston, into Cambridge, and then back into Boston is facing arraignment.

Authorities say 34-year-old Leroy Martin of Brighton is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Chelsea District Court on gun and traffic violation charges.

Police say the chase began at about 4:40 p.m. Wednesday when troopers attempted to pull over Martin on Route 1 in Boston as part of a firearms investigation.

Police say Martin sped away, drove into Cambridge and then back into Boston, before crashing his car in Charles Street Circle. He ran away and was apprehended at about 5:15 p.m. at the Kendall Square subway station.

Police say a trooper fearing for his life opened fire on Martin in Cambridge, but no one was struck.
