Police: Dorchester Killings Were Gang-Related

Boston Police say the killings of three women and the shooting of a fourth in a car on Dorchester's Harlem Street Sunday night were gang-related.

At least one of the women shot to death in the car was targeted, according to Police Commissioner Ed Davis.

"There appears to be a gang connection to this," Davis said Thursday before meeting with community leaders and the Boston TenPoint Coalition. "It was not a random attack. It appears to be targeted."

Davis said police are getting a lot of tips about the crime, but they need more help with witnesses.

"If you don’t stand up and cooperate with us, you're destined to live under the fear of an individual who is capable of these acts," he said. "And it takes courage to stand up and it’s not an easy thing to stand up."

There have been no arrests made in the case.

Community leaders say these murders crossed a line. They are offering a reward for information to help solve any of the killings, and they are planning several marches to demonstrate their outrage.
