Kennedy Launches TV Ad In Mass. 4th District Race

Democrat Joseph Kennedy III is launching his first television ad in Massachusetts' 4th Congressional District race.

In the one-minute ad, the member of the famous political family is seen greeting small business owners and talking to voters. He says he'll focus on creating jobs, rebuilding the nation's infrastructure, supporting community colleges and providing capital for small businesses.

Kennedy, who is facing Republican candidate Sean Bielat, said he'd protect Medicare and Social Security and tackle the debt and deficit with spending cuts and closing "corporate loopholes."

Kennedy said he also supports the so-called Buffett Rule that would require Americans with incomes above $1 million to pay a 30 percent tax rate.

Kennedy's fundraising has topped $3 million, more than any other candidate for the U.S. House from Massachusetts.

This program aired on September 17, 2012. The audio for this program is not available.
