3 Democratic Mass. Congressmen Easily Win Re-Election

Three Democratic Massachusetts congressmen have easily won re-election.

Richard Neal and James McGovern had no opponents in Tuesday's election. Michael Capuano had no Republican opponent and easily defeated independent Karla Romero.

All three will serve another two-year term.

Massachusetts lost a congressional district because of population shifts in the 2010 census, so there have been changes in the districts.

Neal is a former Springfield mayor who represented the 2nd Congressional District and will now represent the 1st District. His new district is the state's largest and includes 87 cities and towns from Williamstown, in the northwest, to Dudley, on the Connecticut border.

McGovern is from Worcester. In the new 2nd District, he'll represent much of central Massachusetts.

Capuano is from Somerville. He'll serve again in the 7th District, which includes parts of Cambridge and Boston.
