A second eastern Massachusetts casino proposal could be coming from a big name developer.

After failing to win support from the people of Foxborough, Las Vegas casino magnate Steve Wynn is now considering Everett for a casino. Specifically, Wynn is interested in a property along the Mystic River, once owned by Monsanto Chemical.

Dave Rodrigues, acting chief of staff for Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria, said he expects Wynn to visit the city soon.

"We're really looking forward to talking with Wynn and Wynn Resorts about how Steve's vision for the Monsanto site will compliment Mayor DeMaria's vision for the city of Everett," Rodrigues said.

Hard Rock International is also reportedly interested in the Monsanto site.

"This is a great place to develop," Rodrigues said. "We're a hidden gem in the Boston area, and we're really looking forward to hearing some exciting proposals come forth for that site."

Caesars Entertainment has already unveiled its proposal for a Boston-area license, hoping to develop a casino at the Suffolk Downs racetrack.
