Dozens Of Students To Withdraw After Harvard Cheating Scandal

After last year's cheating scandal at Harvard University, it appears about half of the 125 students investigated by the school's administrative board have been asked to withdraw.

Harvard is not specifically addressing the results of its investigation into last year's alleged widespread cheating in a government class. But in an email to the Harvard community, Dean Michael Smith said half of the cases that went before its administrative board in the fall resulted in students withdrawing from school. Of the rest, about half were placed on disciplinary probation, and half were dismissed.

The email stressed that the school does not report individual outcomes of cases that go before the board, just aggregate statistics.

A Harvard official did say though that these statistics are related to the cheating investigation that Harvard announced last summer.
