Greater Boston saw little new snow accumulation on Sunday, from a storm that was initially forecast to bring up to a foot of snow.

The central Massachusetts town of Boylston reported more than 6 inches of snow by Sunday evening. The Worcester Airport had 5 inches, and at least 4 inches fell in Leominster.

A winter weather advisory remained in effect until midnight for central and eastern Massachusetts, including Worcester, Boston, and Quincy.

Meteorologist Mark Rosenthal said good news was on the way for people tired of winter.

"We're going to have a sunny, beautiful Monday," Rosenthal predicted. "It's going to be in the mid-40s, you're going to love that, when you put your face out to the almost-March sunshine."

However, a storm developing in the Midwest could make its way to New England by Tuesday night, bringing more rain and snow.
